DUBAI: Jordanian filmmaker Amjad Al-Rasheed’s movie “Inshallah a Boy” has won yet another accolade — the best performance prize at the Asia Pacific Screen Award, which took place this week.

The film is a production supported by Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

In “Inshallah a Boy,” Nawal, a mother and homemaker, is grieving the death of her husband when she discovers she might also lose her home. This is because of inheritance laws stating that if she does not have a son, her husband’s family can claim most of the inheritance.
